����MOSCOW, April 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Russian Defense Minister Sergei
Ivanov said on Tuesday that he did not rule out the possibility ofcreating
integrated armed forces of the Russian-Belarussian Union State.
����Speaking at a press conference in Minsk, the visiting minister said
the creation of integrated armed forces has long been announced as a goal.
����"I don't see any reasons why we should not advance in this way," he
said.
����He stressed that "political decisions" must be made in order
toestablish such armed forces, but declined to predict the exact date the
union forces may be created.
����"No one will be able to say when all this will happen," he said.
����Ivanov is paying a visit in Minsk for meetings of the two Defense
Ministries. He also held meetings with Belarussian President Alexander
Lukashenko on military cooperation. Enditem
