The only thing that changes is that after the war, big countries (e.g. France) and "the righteous victims" got compensated for their sufferings. In Greece the last day before their departure the Germans sunk all the Greek trains that had been "borrowed" from the occupation forces. So next day after the German departure Greeks had no trains. But the retreating Germans manage to leave Greece unharmed since Greeks listen to the message of Churchill to let them leave so so they regroup in Yugoslavia where the "Allies" were to intervene next. But Germans had to cross Yugoslavia. And the Tito and the "Chetniks" (honour to their names) were waiting them to come and gave them some very good lessons.
