According to the minister, the newly arrived aircraft will perform combat tasks of the anti-terrorist coalition replacing French Air Force aircraft which will soon leave the coalition base in Manas for home. In the course of her Kyrgyz visit, Devold has already held negotiations with Kyrgyz defence minister Esen Topoyev. The sides discussed the progress of the anti-terror operation of the coalition forces in Afghanistan and touched upon the development of military cooperation between Norway and Kyrgyzstan. While visiting the republic, the Norwegian defence minister plans to meet Kyrgyz Prime Minister Nikolai Tanayev. In addition, Devold will visit the coalition base at Manas airport. The base stations 6 French Mirage-2000 fighters, a few military-cargo aircraft and 1,900 soldiers and officers from 11 countries.
