����MOSCOW, July 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Armenia has no intention to join
NATO, Armenian Defense Minister Serzhik Sarkisian said in an interview
published Thursday.
����"The issue of Armenia's entry into NATO is not on the foreign
policy agenda," he said in an interview with the Voice of Armenia
newspaper.
����Sarkisian said Armenia has never intervened in the disputes between
Russia and NATO. "In this regard, the NATO-Russia rapprochement is fully
in line with Armenian interests," he said.
����Noting Armenia has stepped up its contacts with NATO since 2000,the
minister stressed that the country is pursuing an appropriate and balanced
policy in the military sphere.
����"Armenia and Russia will be strategic partners, and no changes in
this aspect are expected in the foreseeable future," he said. Enditem
