CPI(ML) Liberation Resolutely Supports the Struggle to Defend the Democratic & Civil Rights of Comrade Jose Maria Sison The world knew well that Jose Maria Sison and his family have been living in the Netherlands for the last 15 years and the State Council of the Netherlands has recognised him as a political refugee. The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) expresses deep concern for the sudden deprivation of housing, medical insurance, food allowance and other basic necessities for the Sison family, and the freezing of his bank account, by the Dutch government as a result of his being labeled a terrorist. These measures and the threat of others to follow – a possible extradition to the US on trumped-up criminal charges. Ironically, Dutch authorities issued the "sanction ruling, terrorism 2002 III", against Sison’s family immediately following the US listed CPP and NPA as terrorist organizations and the targets for freezing assets. CPI(ML) Liberation outrightly rejects the arbitrary and false accusation of terrorism against the organization fighting for democracy and human rights and against foreign invasions. CPP and the NPA are leading components of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP). In fact the governments of the Netherlands, Belgium and Norway have facilitated rounds of peace negotiations between the NDFP and the government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP). Prof. Jose Maria Sison is the chief political consultant of the NDFP Negotiating Panel. The European Parliament has passed resolutions endorsing the peace negotiations between the NDFP and the Philippine government. There is no valid reason or justification for the Dutch authorities to violate its own policies as well as the resolutions of European Parliament. We demand the government of the Netherlands to withdraw We request you to withdraw your government’s listing of the CPP/NPA and Professor Jose Maria Sison as terrorists.
