The NATOized quislings in Copenhagen will support any and every US-NATO war - against Yugoslavia, against Afghanistan, against Iraq, against their own neighbors if it comes to that as long as they can prove their fealty to Brussels and Washington. Their predecessors didn't fare so well after 1944. Prehaps a warning?] AP World Politics Danish prime minister says Europe, United States must stand together against Iraq Tue Oct 1, 9:06 AM ET COPENHAGEN, Denmark - Denmark's prime minister said Tuesday that Europe and America must unite forces against countries with weapons of mass destruction and the United Nations ( news - web sites) must "live up to its responsibility" to stop them from spreading. Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, whose country holds the rotating European Union ( news - web sites) presidency, pointed to attempts by the U.S. administration to persuade the UN to approve resolutions authorizing the use of military force to oust Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein ( news - web sites). U.S. President George W. Bush ( news - web sites) says Saddam is stockpiling biological and chemical weapons and trying to obtain nuclear bombs in violation of U.N. resolutions. "Europe and the United States must stand together in attempts at preventing that tyrannical and irresponsible regimes have weapons of mass destruction," Fogh Rasmussen told parliament as it reconvened after a summer break. "Iraq is ruled by such a regime." U.N. Security Council members with veto powers Britain, the United States, France, Russia and China are divided over how many resolutions should be presented. Britain sides the United States in favoring a single resolution, threatening military strikes if Saddam does not follow orders to disarm. France is leaning toward two one to send weapons inspectors into Iraq and one to deal with the consequences if Saddam doesn't obey. "The international community's efforts to enforce these injunctions has the full support of Denmark and the EU," Fogh Rasmussen said. "The United Nations must (now) live up to its responsibility to stop the spreading of the weapons of mass destruction," he said. "It will be too late when the toxic gases have been spread over one of our cities." The Danish leader acknowledged trans-Atlantic "differences of opinion" but said Europe and the United States share the same basic values and principles and "what unites us is stronger than what divides us." NATO-member Denmark holds the EU's presidency through December. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
