AP. 18 March 2003. Two men arrested in anti-war protest at air base.

LONDON -- Police arrested two men Tuesday during an anti-war protest at
a Royal Air Force base where American B-52 bombers are stationed.

The men were arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass of the base at
Fairford, southwest England, police said.

A friend, Andrew Wood, identified the suspects as Phillip Pritchard, 32,
and Toby Olditch, 34, both from Oxford.

He said they were arrested while attaching pictures of Iraqi victims of
previous U.S.-led bombing campaigns and sanctions on the fence of the
base.

They had also been planting seeds to symbolise life, Wood said.

Fourteen long-range B-52s arrived at the base earlier this month and
they are expected to be at the forefront of any air operations against
Iraq.
