Azertag November 17, 2009 EASTERN PARTNERSHIP FOREIGN MINISTERS TO MEET IN DECEMBER [See: Eastern Partnership: The West’s Final Assault On the Former Soviet Union http://rickrozoff.wordpress.com/2009/08/26/eastern-partnership-the-wests-final-assault-on-the-former-soviet-union ] Baku: The first meeting of foreign ministers from the Eastern Partnership program (EaP) countries is slated for December, 2009, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby told reporters during his Azerbaijan visit. Semneby also spoke of the prospects for the EU Eastern Partnership program. According to the diplomat, the Association Agreements with Eastern Partnership countries will be signed after the negotiations only. For now, the next step is to secure a mandate to launch talks with the Eastern Partnership countries. The talks will commence next year and take a year or a year an half, the diplomat said. “The Eastern Partnership will be under the jurisdiction of a new representative for foreign affairs and security.
