Xinhua News Agency November 24, 2009 NATO tankers attacked in Pakistan, driver injured ISLAMABAD: Some unidentified militants attacked a convoy of NATO oil tankers in the Mastong area of Quetta in southwest Pakistan on Tuesday and injured a tanker driver while the tankers caught fire, local TV channels said. According to details, the militants attacked the NATO supply convoy when it was passing through Sindh- Balochistan by-pass. As a result, a driver was injured while many oil tankers caught fire. After the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation. The administration and paramilitary men removed the other tankers from the site to avoid any further damage. The NATO and U.S.-led forces in landlocked Afghanistan are hugely dependent on Pakistan for their supplies and equipment. It was reported that around 80 percent of their supplies are transported through the neighboring country.
