United Press International January 15, 2010 Raytheon SM-6 program advances WHITE SANDS, N.M. - U.S. company Raytheon has achieved a milestone for its next-generation Standard Missile system that advances the program for future at-sea testing. Raytheon recently conducted a fourth guided test vehicle launch with its Standard Missile-6, a new missile technology based on its Standard Missile airframe and propulsion elements. The successful completion of the GTV marks a milestone for the company and advances the program for future at-sea testing that company officials say is expected to take place in 2010. The SM-6 integrates the company's Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile signal processing and guidance control capabilities and combines it with its Standard Missile airframe technologies for a next-generation missile.
