Markus, I am also interested in parsing matlab. Actually, I have written a parser for a language, dynare (http://www.dynare.org/), that interacts with matlab. My problem is related to the one you mentioned about the use of '\''. I merely want to pass all non dynare code through untouched. unfortunately, this conflicts with my use of quoted strings as tokens.
Have you worked on a matlab grammar? How did you address the use of '\''?
