Yes, thats what FPGA means. :-)
There's an external Ethernet Phy and and the MAC is a hardmacro on the 
FPGA. The disk is connected with a SATA interface.

Both sides should be able to process jumboframes and, as I wrote, they 
do, when I use the aoe-exercise tool.
