hi all,
first question in the group, so please, forgive the lack of specific details
that you might need.
the problem, as you can deduct from the subject is this:
if I try to export several disk or disk partitions using vblade and then use
these to construct a raid 5 with mdadm, I register a write speed of around 70
MByte/s, but only 7 MByte/s during read sessions (during and after the
reconstruction of the raid).
on the server side I'm using 4 nodes with 8 cpu core per node and a 1 Gbps
network connection. The aoe traffic travel on a dedicated NIC connected to a
Gigabit switch. I can see the transmission speed directly from the interface of
the switch and the speeds I'm reporting are the ones registered by the switch.
on the client side I'm using an Intel 2x Xeon system, with a dual Gigabit NICs
configured in bonding, but also using one of the nodes as client with a single
NIC test doesn't change the results.
all the Nics are configured with a MTU of 9000 and the rmem values of the kernel
are fixed to 278528 as suggested
the whole systems (clients/servers) are using Fedora 7 64 bit with the last
Kernel version and the vblade daemon available from officials repositories.

did anybody noticed this behavior and have an idea on what is going ?

thanks to any suggestion
