Not many people use the "kerninst" target, and it could use some
attention.  I'll check it out, but I notice ...

... that you are building it as a module, and if that's what you want,
you don't need "kerninst".

You can just do a regular "make install" as root in the aoe sources to
install the aoe driver under /lib/modules/{kernel-version}.

The only people who care about kerninst are those who want to build
the driver from the Coraid website into their vmlinux.
