Dear ED/SAM,
Of long I was playing with AoE protocol, target and initiator and I want to
contribute something. I have done following things related with AoE
protocol. I just want to review it by you and keep all the document and
patches on FOSS (free open source software) of course, if possible on AoE
website/ source forgenet. The document and patches which I created is as
follows:
1) patch against the aoe driver:
Feature acheived: Currently when aoe target (vblade dies on server side),
still we can see all the files in mounted directory. My patch splve this
problem.
2) Making of open source HA SAN :
An article which describes and making of HA SAN with heartbeat and DRBD. I
mean it contains a complete how to of integration of DRBD, heartbeat and AoE
targets and initiators.
3) Comparitive study of all the available aoe targets, their features,
measurements with FIO/ BONNIE, graphs and many more things.
This article contains a document which describes all the aoe features, all
the available targets, a how to to configure all the 9 available aoe
targets and their comparitive analysis.
Please suggest me if these things will be helpful for end users who are
playing with AoE. Shall I send my all the documents and patches to you for
review. Please tell if you find some time for its review and you will keep
all the things on proper place for the mankind help.
