You do not need the source or to compile the kernel itself but "just"
need to have the kernel headers... to compile AoE as a loadable module.

Try :
apt-get update
apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-`uname -r`

Then make install from the aoe6-76 bundle.

This may be of use aswell :
