Hey mate, I encounter the same problem before. The current version you are using is quite old without many bug fixes. I suggest you'd better download the latest aoetools and vblade packages. Download the latest vblade daemon from http://sourceforge.net/projects/aoetools/files/vblade/ and download the latest aoetools package from http://support.coraid.com/support/linux/aoe6-77.tar.gz. After that your AoE environment can work very well.
