i would even recommend to push this to a compile option.

The (sub)command could be always available but return in
installed versions an empty result. The docs could say that

... this (sub)command is intended for debugging/developing
aolserver and is normally deactivated. In order to avtivate
it, compile aolsever with flag XXX. Be aware that this
(sub)command is not thread save and can kill the aolserver
when used with multiple threads ....
