Everyone,

Here's your chance to help contribute back to the AOLserver Project in a
meaningful way! Help us revamp the current http://aolserver.com/
website! Lets all work together to make it a site we can all be proud
of, and confidently direct people there when they want to know what
AOLserver is all about. Something that will get the attention of the
public, and help us spread the word about AOLserver.

What I think we need for the redesign: first and foremost, a new site
design template! We need a modern look and feel. A clean, consistent,
and professional looking style guide. A logo for the project to start
building the AOLserver brand with. Copywriters to provide content that
can go up on the site. Other ideas?

The last time I brought this up, some folks responded but all were
looking for even small sums of money in exchange for their
participation, which I completely understand. However, AOLserver is
made freely available to the open source community, and I'd hope that
folks would return the favor by contributing back freely as well. Maybe
this model doesn't work, and perhaps there needs to be a way for the
project to raise funds through donations to pay for these kinds of
project efforts, but it seems kind of wrong to me: how much of those
funds should go to folks who contribute code to the core server vs.
those who contribute to the website design effort? It's not clear to
me, and I'm sure it'll be hard to come up with an answer quickly that
everyone can agree on.

So, if you have talent (graphic design, brand/identity creation,
copywriting) and would like to contribute a portion of your time, effort
and talent, please email me. I will work to coordinate the efforts of
everyone involved to hopefully start the process of building a new
aolserver.com site!
