The only argument against the method I suggested was that you now
couple your display with your validation, but perhaps this is
acceptable if you don't use plain-old-designers to build your
display pieces.

Alternatively, you could break up the display piece from the
validation piece in separate files and use ns_adp_include or
somesuch, but the underlying technique is still the same.
