It ain't going to -> change any time soon. But it is, it is! Python, at any rate. ;) Seriously, the name of the game is integration. You can take your Python tools & integrate them with the Tcl functionality if you want. I believe the same to be true of Java + AOLserver. A question better answered is your second one -- moving away from Tcl is unlikely to happen. Moving towards other languages has already happened and seems like a good idea.
