SQL Server 7 probably has some system notification stuff going on,
most likely taking advantage of MAPI to achieve this.  Publish an
API to a system interface, be glad that things actually USE it.

The real question is WTF is Eudora doing fiddling with MAPI.DLL.
If that isn't a big blinking flashing waving red flag to get a
_real_ MUA, I don't know what is.
