FYI

I have eventually got AOLServer to compile on the Alpha platform.

It seems that the key is simply to use gnu make.  I tried also to build gcc
but this failed even with gnu make.  Fortunately gnu make + the Compaq
supplied cc compiler seemed to do the trick.  I only hope the same is true
for the arsdigita oracle driver.
