I am not going to post a bug report yet then in case this is actually a
bug in FreeBSD's ioctl function. After , FreeBSD 5.0 is the developer's
version. I don't have access to 4.3 to test the server there right now
and see if it works or not. It could be that ioctl in FreeBSD 5.0 is
broken. Although I did try upgrading to the latest development version
of FreeBSD 5.0 and still had the same problem and I don't know of any
issues with ioctl in 5.0
Anyway, thanks for your help, and I will try the FreeBSD mailing
lists.
