We've been running 3 dual processor Linux machines with 2.2.19 and Tyan motherboards (Tiger 1832?) for 2 years with AS 2.3.3 and more recently with 3.4 and are very happy with the setup.
We did have a problem with a DFI dual motherboard where it would occasionally hang, so we had to run it in single processor mode, but that was due to some issue with the board. We have never had this problem with the Tyans.
