Thomas, The Tcl sources require a minor change before you can have it work with AOLServer. The guys at AOL developed a special allocator designed for much better performance with threads. I do plan on putting this into the core (now that license issues are resolved), but it needs a bit more time because the current version (in the AOLServer head) only works on Unix. Once that is addressed, 8.4 (and likely a backport for 8.3.5) will work fine "out-of-the-box".
I guess it would actually work now, but without the enhanced allocator, the performance would be unsatisfactory.
