Ok, I know, I know - it's ancient. But we just took over hosting for a site which still relies on ns_adminlink, and therefore the entire admin page suite, and so for the moment at least it's impossible to upgrade. There may be other dependencies as well; that's just the one I know about.
We're having multiple problems, issues I've never had on my own 2.3.3 sites. But they run on a security-updated version of 6.2, so it's not quite the same situation. The biggest problem is that it appears that threads aren't being released properly. The site is *very* lightly loaded right now and yet the number of threads keeps increasing. Eventually, it will spawn the maximum number (25, I think) and then nearly everyone gets a Site Busy message. This would be manageable in the short term by restarting the server occasionally if it weren't for the second biggest problem: at least half the time, if not more, defunct threads are left behind when you kill nsd. This usually prevents it from starting back up properly. Aack! Any hints, ideas, etc, or even just confirmation of what's going on, would be helpful. Heck, I'll take moral support at this point! :) I know that Daniel Stasinski has a 3.x version of the NS/Admin stuff and I'll take a look at it tomorrow, but it needs to be ported to Oracle (and I don't know if that's my only 2.3.3 dependency anyway).
