GOAL:

Complete the AOLserver 3.5 Tcl and C API documentation by 31 December 2002.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Find an unassigned Tcl or C API man page at

You can probably skip signing up for an unassigned one if you create the man page and send it to me within a day or two. Most of you can finish a new man page in less than an hour. Do it, send it to me, I'll review it, commit it and close the task.

Or tell me your SF username and I'll assign a man page to you and give you a couple of days to complete it.

To check out the code with your SF username (change scottg to your username):

   cvs -z3 -d:ext:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/aolserver co -r aolserver_v35_bp aolserver

Or anonymously if you'd like to help but don't have commit privs:

   cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/aolserver login

(when prompted for a password for 'anonymous', just hit enter)

   cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/aolserver co -r aolserver_v35_bp aolserver

The man pages are in aolserver/docs. Do an 'ls -lrt' to see the latest changed files. I've just completed Ns_Auth.3, Ns_Adp.3, Ns_Alloc.3 and ns_sock.n; feel free to use those as examples.

Don't spend a lot of time trying to get the nroff commands and formatting "just right". If the best you can do is copy and paste from the C or Tcl API PDF docs for 3.0, validate them by looking at the source code for AOLserver 3.5, and add/delete/modify what you need to, that's good enough. Send that content to me and I'll nroff it and commit it.

If you have questions or aren't sure what you're doing in nroff or otherwise, contact me directly.

thanks,

/s.
