when downloading a large file such as an .iso image, all other connections are ignored. further, the log file shows that sched threads are also blocked. if the large download is stopped, connections and scheduled events are again serviced.
this happens with aolserver 4.0, 4.0.2 and 4.1. tried tcl 8.4.4 and 8.4.5 on redhat 9 and fedora core 1
it only happens with openacs loaded. downloading the file from /SYSTEM or / makes no difference.
i enabled stats but cannot see any lock contention.
how do i find out what is causing the serialization of requests?
