The design is in progress and under discussion -- limited to the people
who I chat with on a regular basis.  I'm working on it, in my spare
time.

I don't want to open a whole lengthy public discussion because those
tend to become noisy and can get ugly since everyone has a different
opinion ... which is great, but I've been saying that I want to revamp
the DB API for years now and haven't and I feel bad about that.

So, this time around, I'm just going to keep quiet, work on it, and when
it's done, I'll release it.  Then, people can give real and concrete
feedback about something that really exists ...
