Its the jk2 connector build that's a little tricky. There are tags for that that align with the tomcat versions. However, there are build issues with the jk2 connector build if you use a jakarta_tomcat_connector tag later than 4.1.27. I've worked successfully with jk2 tag of TOMCAT_4_1_27 for the jk2 build, but use it running wih a later Tomcat version. Depending on your needs, you may want to consider using Tomcat5 instead as that is where most of our effort is going now. If you do, you'll need to use nsjk2 v2, which currently you get just straight from CVS (either grab the head or the latest v2 beta tag). The pdf documentation hasn't been updated for this release yet, but the READMEs in the source have. > Should we build Tomcat from source or is it ok to use the binary release? Okay to use the binary source of Tomcat. > > For nsjk2, should we use the cvs head version or is there some other > version that you would recommend we use? For tomcat 4, use the latest _v1 tag, for tomcat 5, use the latest _v2 tag. > > We are most interested in being able to build a Tcl command from Java > code. I'm wondering what the status of that feature is. If I remember > correctly y'all said this feature would not be available until later this > summer. Any more news? Hope to have this available by the end of the month! Let us know how it goes.
