Just an FYI for the next person who runs into this.
I had two sites with the charset problem, and since I had already
altered my second database to WE8ISO8859P1 I figured I would see if 9i
could handle doing a conversion on import. My dump was in US7ASCII and
I tried importing it with NLS_LANG set both ways, and got corruption
each time. However, loading it into a US7ASCII database and using
ALTER DATATBASE to change it worked. Something seems to be amiss with
either 8i's export or 9i's import (my money is on the export, but who
knows).
