I use to get this error when we were using old tcl version , But after upgrading to 8.4.11 we stopped receiving this error. The error in our case was because of no more ememory left on the system as Old tcl version had memory leaks and Aolserver was consuming all physical and swap memory

make sure "info tclversion " returns 8.4.11

Interesting... How large is your AOLserver process at the time of the exec and how much memory do you have free?

After reading on the list I upgraded to TCL 8.4.11 to use with my AOLserver,
but to no good.

When I call "exec /usr/bin/htmldoc --webpage -t pdf -f $tmp_pdf_filename
$tmp_html_filename" it works two or three times and then returns with
"coulnd't fork child process, not enough memory".

Any idea how I can get this to work?
