A variant is used in production, although it's not exactly the same. There's only a couple of us working on updating this code at the moment, but I'd be more then happy to add anyone to the project who is interested in contributing. There are a bunch of sample configuration files, which honestly is the most confusing part of this code base. Contact me off list if interested in pitching in, and I'll get you set up.
