Your patch is part of AOLserver, but there are no examples of how to use
it outside of OpenACS.

I have an example of loading the Thread package plus starting up the bg
delivery thread. And I have a page which send a file for bg delivery. 

Here is a link to the example:

One difference is that my example uses [ns_bgwrite channel] instead of
[ns_conn channel].
