Synopsis: HTTP_USER not on the enviroment for protected CGI's State-Changed-From-To: open-closed State-Changed-By: marc State-Changed-When: Wed Oct 28 00:51:43 PST 1998 State-Changed-Why: "HTTP_USER" is not a CGI environment variable and is not supposed to be set. "REMOTE_USER", however, is set, but only if you require auth for the script. Simply requiring auth for a form that submits to the script, etc. is not sufficient.
