I don't remember exactly what was said last time. I don't
think a definitive answer was reached. My (fairly strong)
opinion is that the docs should strive for consistent
spelling. Since the majority of doc writers speak
American English, we should go with this. (Personally, I speak Canadiyan, but I'll try to behave.)
As OtherBill points out, if someone really wants a en-gb or en-ca or whatever, nobody is going to stop them from contributing one. (The problem goes beyond a perl script, however. Usage is different, not just spelling.)
