Have you found a way to download the extensions without having to fill out the form every time?

Perl works too. :) The benefit of an RPM is that you can stuff the frontpage extensions in the RPM, but it would be just as simple to have a Perl script that would do the whole thing minus having the frontpage extensions. (Though you could call wget within the Perl to download the extensions.)

If you code anything up I'm sure I could contribute something to it. My Perl is a little bit .... umm.... bad.... but I am really good at borrowing code from other open projects :)

You are most welcome. Glad I could help anyone out there.

I would do the rpm but I have no clue how that is done. For myself until somebody does an rpm I will probably use a perl script to do it.

Josh I really appreciate all the work you have done. You saved me a couple of years ago when I found your site. I had been trying for days to install FrontPage before I found your rpm's.

I would agree that if someone has a fresh install of RH 9 that they might be best served following John Spencer's directions to do Apache2 on RH.

Also on the topic of Red Hat 9 ... I would say if someone is installing RH 7 / 8 / or 9 for educational reasons then that is cool, but if you are going to try to use it as a server then make sure you start with Fedora or the Enterpri$e distro of Red Hat.

For me I am working with Mandrake. Frontpage Extensions on Mandrake are doable. ( http://www.newwebsite.com/mandrake.html )  The install can even be RPM'd to streamline it since you always change the same files and such to do the install.

I just loaded RedHat 9.0 on a test server and followed the instructions from John Spencer, and it seems to work well.  I would highly suggest you give that a try.  I'm running the 2.x version, but I doubt there are many differences, as it asks when you install if you want 1.3 or 2.0. The files are not RPM's but and available on RTR.com's site

Subject: [Apache-FP] Error: Libmm

I am currently trying to install the fp server extensions on a fresh install of Redhat 9.

After entering rpm –Uhv apache-fp*.rpm mod_fpse*rpm

It returned the following error

Error:  failed dependicies

            Libmm.so.11 is needed by Apache-fp-1.3.27.7

Can someone give me a hand here.  Where can I get this file, and how do I install it?  Still new to this so appreciate any assistance.

Thanks Again

Slair
