Just wanted to send this to the list so it hits the archive. Someone asked me about this error and it was not easy for me to remember so I figured I'd repost the question and solution.

The error...

"[error] [client 192.147.30.161] (13)Permission denied: unable to connect to cgi daemon after multiple tries: /usr/local/frontpage/version5.0/apache-fp/_vti_bin/fpexe, referer:"

The solution...

http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg00510.html

"After scratching my head for a while.. I searched the Internet and someone
posted to change the /var/log/httpd directory to 755 and poof.. that fixed
the problem. Okay, I have no idea how that fixed it.. But I can't argue!..
Yuh got to love Google search.."

So just do this and then restart apache...

chmod 755 /var/log/httpd

Thanks for your help. Before I ran it, I wiped both logs. It's a new
machine and only had testing data anyway so...

looks like it is looking for a file default.ida Don't know what that is.
Should it be there?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks to the Republican National Convention I am stuck at home and am not commuting in to NYC so I have a little free time this week :)

When you get that error can you then do this in a terminal window?

tail /var/log/httpd/error_log

tail /var/log/httpd/access_log

and we can see if something useful comes up? Fedora I run myself. It
definately should work fine.
