Hi, APE 1.0 and 0.9 support all major browser in their last version : IE 6,7,8 / FF 1.5,2,3 / Safari 3 / Chrome / Opera 9 and 10. You can help the APE team in many ways, what we realy need is some good tutorial, fixing english mistake on the wiki (especially on these page : http://ape-project.org/wiki/index.php/Category:Tutorial), making demo, making blog article, testing beta release and report bugs...
APE 1.0 is getting closer everyday of final release, we are working a lot to polish it.
