Hi,
you have to update the APE JSF too, as there were a small change in the
APE protocol between 1.0 and git version, also the git version of APE
JSF contains some bugs fix.
It's not necessary on all server upgrade to upgrade the JSF.

error you have mean there is a syntax error in your script.
You can check more exactly for syntax error with "js" command
(this command is not part of APE) you have to install
spidermonkey-bin (on debian)
