Since I am lazy, I will first install the deb package so I get all the nice entries in /etc/init.d, have the lib files placed in the correct directories… However, I think I installed the deb package as you did, and I don't have aped in /etc/init.d but in /usr/bin/ Why is that? Can someone explain why there are different ways of setting up the directories, and chooses how it is done? Is it each Unix system? Or does it depend on the way you install/compile? Or both?
