Well, I eventually found out why I had so much trouble installing the GIT version.
What I usually do in this case is rename the existing file with an _old tag. I did exactly that with the libspidermonkey.so file. Which resulted in two files being present in the directory instead of the usual single one. That was THE problem! As one can read in the README file in the modulss/lib/ directory of the GIT, all files present in the lib directory will be loaded by the APE. So only one file must be present, do not make the same mistake as I did. The fact that there was a README file probably means that this was a known problem. I wish the message had been even more specific. Maybe the APE team should add something like "Beware, do not duplicate any old version of libspidermonkey in this directory, because it will..." The error message was: SEGMENTATION FAULT Not sure the [Module] [U WVS , y| ] [WARN] Cannot open configuration (U WVS l รน ) [Module] [U WVS , y| ] Loading module : U H ] (U H ] U c} ) - U X ] ~ was related to it or not, I cannot reproduce it now.
