Angel,

My java client is a game server that joins channels and acts as a
controller/host for each game room. It communicates with APE using both
websockets and regular sockets.
The websocket is used to communicate with the players in the room and the
regular socket is used to communicate directly with the APE server (local
network socket to ensure identity of the game server).
APE has built in support of websockets so you don't need to do anything
above and beyond knowing how to use the APE protocol. Make sure that the
transport mode is set to 6 as I have indicated above.

Nathan.
