Hi, I've been going through the Ape wiki's Tutorial:Hello world, and I found something that I thought was really strange. The APE Client expects n.ape-server.foo.com to resolve to the same DNS as ape-server- foo.com.
Oh, I have just read that the deb packages are old ... and I missed some prerequisite packages for Ubuntu. So, I shall attempt to recompile from git. Does the latest version still have this (in my opinion) strange DNS requirement? I updated the Tutorial wiki about the DNS quirk. I'll update it soon to refer to the Setup page near the beginning. Could someone put a link to the wiki setup instructions [ http://www.ape-project.org/wiki/index.php/Setup ] on the main Download page [ http://www.ape-project.org/download/APE_Complete_Package.html ]? It was not obvious that I had to do anything more than install the (outdated) debian package and possibly edit some files in /etc/ape/. --Lexcelsior -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "APE Project" group.
