You dont need to configure your virtual hosts, as APE is a server on its own (on defautl port 6969) and not running in Apache
The "frequency" is unlimited and can go up to 100 or 1000 or even more - it is increased with every reload in the browser. So your hosts file should contain much more lines - or you use your own DNS and bind *.ape.a-test.local to your 127.0.0.1 Alternative: Close your browser (not just the tab) an reopen it - it will start with 0 again Makes sense?
