In the default case (long polling), the browser closes the open request to
the APE server every 25 seconds and reopens a new one. You should be able
to see this in Firebug or any console (network tab) log. If you leave the
browser or go to another page, this will end and after 45 seconds without
news the APE server will delete the user.
