Top and webmin don't show the same thing. The memory thing is a bit confusing on Linux I have to say. Then, there is also the VIRT and RES memories. All in all, I don't think I have a memory problem. The dedicated server support that I questioned probably pointed me into the wrong direction.
Back to APE, the VIRT memory at start is 48000kB and the RES memory is about 6000. But the latter goes up by 8 kB every 2 seconds in the few minutes, then it seems that the increase gets smaller and smaller. This is weird... My production server that has been up and running for one week is now at 42mB. Is that really too much? Regarding to building the latest version of the GIT, I am a bit reluctant. Does it really work with Mysql? My current version was compiled in june last year and it works fine overall (although it is possible that there is still a problem with somewhere). The Mysql issue has been around for so long that I really don't trust any other version than the one I pointed a few times here. 1.0.8 I think. Thanks for your time Pablo.
