Many thanks. I have learned a few things since I posted. I still don't know what error 4 is though.
Using nm like this: nm --numeric-sort aped >nm.txt I got the following result: 0000000000415100 t ape_sent 0000000000*415140* t *ape_disconnect *00000000004151e0 T ape_dns_init which indicates that ape_disconnect is where the crashed occured. >From my log, I know that indeed the user's client requested a core.quit() (I have hooked the QUIT command). The user was being deleted but could not for some reason. It is interesting to note that I had just rebooted my server 6 hours before. I usually reboot only once a month (when errors start getting more and more numerous) and almost every time I restart the server, it crashes a few hours later. I believe that this has to do with old sessions mixing up with new ones (or the user PHP page still being open while the server is rebooted). I would tend to think that the server should then crash within a few minutes after reboot but this is not the case, it usually takes a few hours for this to happen. Once I reboot the server again, the problem does not come back. If anyone has any clue about this, I'd be glad to hear him. Thanks again.
