For the benefit of those of you not familiar with the Win32 API, this
is the telltale function - ShellExecuteA is the ANSI variant of
ShellExecute, which launches a separate process. It comes with
Apertium (and CG) separate:

$ ls Program\ Files/Common\ Files/verbix/mt/
bin    en-ca  eo-en   es-eo  es-pt  fr-ca  is-en  oc-es  sl-mk
br-fr  en-es  es-ast  es-gl  es-ro  fr-es  nn-nb  pt-ca  sv-da
ca-eo  en-gl  es-ca   es-it  eu-es  ga-gd  oc-ca  pt-gl  test

$ ls Program\ Files/Common\ Files/verbix/mt/bin/
apertium-interchunk.exe             cyggcc_s-1.dll    cygstdc++-6.dll
apertium-multiple-translations.exe  cygiconv-2.dll    cygwin1.dll
apertium-postchunk.exe              cygicudata38.dll  cygxml2-2.dll
apertium-pretransfer.exe            cygicui18n38.dll  cygz.dll
apertium-tagger.exe                 cygicuio38.dll    lt-proc.exe
apertium-transfer.exe               cygicuuc38.dll    vislcg3.exe
cg-proc.exe                         cygpcre-0.dll
